Sing Psalm 135:1-7 (Tune: Milton) Scottish Metrical Psalter 1650

Dear Readers,

Thanks for stopping by. Thank God for the encouragement from the book of Psalm in the Bible sang from the Scottish Metrical Psalter 1650. This Scottish Metrical Psalm is the singing of Psalm 135:1-7 (Tune: Milton) acapella.

Sing Psalm 135:1-7 (Tune: Milton) Scottish Metrical Psalm

1 Praise ye the Lord, the Lord’s name praise;
his servants, praise ye God.
2 Who stand in God’s house, in the courts
of our God make abode.

3 Praise ye the Lord, for he is good;
unto him praises sing:
Sing praises to his name, because
it is a pleasant thing.

4 For Jacob to himself the Lord
did choose of his good pleasure,
And he hath chosen Israel
for his peculiar treasure.

5 Because I know assuredly
the Lord is very great,
And that our Lord above all gods
in glory hath his seat.

6 What things soever pleased the Lord,
that in the heav’n did he,
And in the earth, the seas, and all
the places deep that be.

7 He from the ends of earth doth make
the vapors to ascend;
With rain he lightnings makes, and wind
doth from his treasures send.

Sing Psalm 112 (Tune: Reward) Scottish Metrical Psalter 1650

Dear Readers,

Thanks for stopping by. Thank God for the encouragement from the book of Psalm in the Bible sang from the Scottish Metrical Psalter 1650. This Scottish Metrical Psalm is the singing of Psalm 112 (Tune: Reward) acapella.

Sing Psalm 112 (Tune: Reward) Scottish Metrical Psalm

1 Praise ye the Lord. The man is blessed
that fears the Lord aright,
He who in his commandments
doth greatly take delight.

2 His seed and offspring powerful
shall be the earth upon:
Of upright men blessed shall be
the generation.

3 Riches and wealth shall ever be
within his house in store;
And his unspotted righteousness
endures for evermore.

4 Unto the upright light doth rise,
though he in darkness be:
Compassionate, and merciful,
and righteous, is he.

5 A good man doth his favor show,
and doth to others lend:
He with discretion his affairs
will guide unto the end.

6 Surely there is not any thing
that ever shall him move:
The righteous man’s memorial
shall everlasting prove.

7 When he shall evil tidings hear,
he shall not be afraid:
His heart is fixed, his confidence
upon the Lord is stayed.

8 His heart is firmly stablished,
afraid he shall not be,
Until upon his enemies
he his desire shall see.

9 He hath dispersed, giv’n to the poor;
his righteousness shall be
To ages all; with honor shall
his horn be raised high.

10 The wicked shall it see, and fret,
his teeth gnash, melt away:
What wicked men do most desire
shall utterly decay.

Thanks for stopping by. Thank God for the encouragement from the book of Psalm in the Bible sang from the Scottish Metrical Psalter 1650. This Scottish Metrical Psalm is the singing of Psalm 98:1-6 (Tune: Richmond) acapella.

Sing Psalm 98:1-6 (Tune: Richmond) Scottish Metrical Psalm

1 O sing a new song to the Lord,
for wonders he hath done:
His right hand and his holy arm
him victory hath won.

2 The Lord God his salvation
hath caused to be known;
His justice in the heathen’s sight
he openly hath shown.

3  He mindful of his grace and truth
to Isr'el's house hath been;
 And the salvation of our God
 all ends of th' earth have seen.

4 Let all the earth unto the Lord
send forth a joyful noise;
Lift up your voice aloud to him,
sing praises, and rejoice.

5 With harp, with harp, and voice of psalms,
unto Jehovah sing:
6 With trumpets, cornets, gladly sound
before the Lord the King.

Thanks for stopping by. Thank God for the encouragement from the book of Psalm in the Bible sang from the Scottish Metrical Psalter 1650. This Scottish Metrical Psalm is the singing of Psalm 84:8-12 (Tune: St Botolph) acapella.

Sing Psalm 84:8-12 (Tune: St Botolph) Scottish Metrical Psalm

8 Lord God of hosts, my prayer hear;
O Jacob’s God, give ear.
9 See God our shield, look on the face
of thine anointed dear.

10 For in thy courts one day excels
a thousand; rather in
My God’s house will I keep a door,
than dwell in tents of sin.

11 For God the Lord’s a sun and shield:
he’ll grace and glory give;
And will withhold no good from them
that uprightly do live.

12 O thou that art the Lord of hosts,
that man is truly blest,
Who by assured confidence
on thee alone doth rest.

Sing Psalm 27:1-5 (Tune: Boston) Scottish Metrical Psalter 1650

Dear Readers,

Thanks for stopping by. Thank God for the encouragement from the book of Psalm in the Bible sang from the Scottish Metrical Psalter 1650. This Scottish Metrical Psalm is the singing of Psalm 27:1-5 (Tune: Boston) acapella.

Sing Psalm 27:1-5 (Tune: Boston) Scottish Metrical Psalm

1 The Lord’s my light and saving health,
who shall make me dismayed?
My life’s strength is the Lord, of whom
then shall I be afraid?

2 When as mine enemies and foes,
most wicked persons all,
To eat my flesh against me rose,
they stumbled and did fall.

3 Against me though an host encamp,
my heart yet fearless is:
Though war against me rise, I will
be confident in this.

4 One thing I of the Lord desired,
and will seek to obtain,
That all days of my life I may
within God’s house remain;

That I the beauty of the Lord
behold may and admire,
And that I in his holy place
may rev’rently enquire.

5 For he in his pavilion shall
me hide in evil days;
In secret of his tent me hide,
and on a rock me raise.

so do thou make us glad.

16 O let thy work and pow’r appear
thy servants’ face before;
And show unto their children dear
thy glory evermore:

17 And let the beauty of the Lord
our God be us upon:
Our handy-works establish thou,
establish them each one.

1 Lord, haste me to deliver;
with speed, Lord, succor me.
2 Let them that for my soul do seek
shamed and confounded be:

Turned back be they, and shamed,
that in my hurt delight.
3 Turned back be they, Ha, ha! that say,
their shaming to requite.

4 In thee let all be glad,
and joy that seek for thee:
Let them who thy salvation love
say still, God praised be.

5 I poor and needy am;
come, Lord, and make no stay:
My help thou and deliv’rer art;
O Lord, make no delay.

Sing Psalm 50(I):9-15 (Tune: Zurich) Scottish Metrical Psalm

9 I’ll take no calf nor goats
from house or fold of thine:
10 For beasts of forests, cattle all
on thousand hills, are mine.

11 The fowls on mountains high
are all to me well known;
Wild beasts which in the fields do lie,
ev’n they are all mine own.

12 Then, if I hungry were,
I would not tell it thee;
Because the world, and fullness all
thereof, belongs to me.

13 Will I eat flesh of bulls?
or goats’ blood drink will I?
14 Thanks offer thou to God, and pay
thy vows to the most High.

15 And call upon me when
in trouble thou shalt be;
I will deliver thee, and thou
my name shalt glorify.

through all the earth’s thy praise;
And thy right hand, O Lord, is full

11 Because thy judgments are made known,
let Zion mount rejoice;
Of Judah let the daughters all
send forth a cheerful voice.

12 Walk about Zion, and go round;
the high tow’rs thereof tell:
13 Consider ye her palaces,
and mark her bulwarks well;

That ye may tell posterity.
14 For this God doth abide
Our God for evermore; he will
ev’n unto death us guide.
