Sing Psalm 145(II):1-6, Tune Duke Street, Scottish Metrical Psalter
1 O Lord, thou art my God and King;
Thee will I magnify and praise:
I will thee bless, and gladly sing
Unto thy holy name always.

2 Each day I rise I will thee bless,
And praise thy name time without end.
3 Much to be praised, and great God is;
His greatness none can comprehend.

4 Race shall thy works praise unto race,
The mighty acts show done by thee.
5 I will speak of the glorious grace,
And honor of thy majesty;

Thy wondrous works I will record.
6 By men the might shall be extolled
Of all thy dreadful acts, O Lord:
And I thy greatness will unfold.

Sing Psalm 103:1-5 (Tune: Kilmarnock) Scottish Metrical Psalm

1 O thou my soul, bless God the Lord;
and all that in me is
Be stirred up his holy name
to magnify and bless.

2 Bless, O my soul, the Lord thy God,
and not forgetful be
Of all his gracious benefits
he hath bestowed on thee.

3 All thine iniquities who doth
most graciously forgive:
Who thy diseases all and pains
doth heal, and thee relieve.

4 Who doth redeem thy life, that thou
to death may’st not go down;
Who thee with loving-kindness doth
and tender mercies crown:

5 Who with abundance of good things
doth satisfy thy mouth;
So that, ev’n as the eagle’s age,
renewed is thy youth.

Sing Psalm 128 (Tune: Dunfermline)
Scottish Metrical Psalter 1650

1 Blessed is each one that fears the Lord,
and walketh in his ways;
2 For of thy labour thou shalt eat,
and happy be always.

3 Thy wife shall as a fruitful vine
by thy house’ sides be found:
Thy children like to olive-plants
about thy table round.

4 Behold, the man that fears the Lord,
thus blessed shall he be.
5 The Lord shall out of Zion give
his blessing unto thee:

Thou shalt Jerus’lem’s good behold
whilst thou on earth dost dwell.
6 Thou shalt thy children’s children see,
and peace on Israel.

Thanks for stopping by. Thank God for the encouragement from the book of Psalm in the Bible sang from the 1650 Scottish Metrical Psalter. This Scottish Metrical Psalm 1650 is the singing of Psalm 105:1-7 using the tune St. Flavian.

Sing Psalm 105:1-7 (Tune: St. Flavian) Scottish Metrical Psalm

1 Give thanks to God, call on his name;
to men his deeds make known.
2 Sing ye to him, sing psalms; proclaim
his wondrous works each one.

3 See that ye in his holy name
to glory do accord;
And let the heart of ev’ry one
rejoice that seeks the Lord.

4 The Lord Almighty, and his strength,
with steadfast hearts seek ye:
His blessed and his gracious face
seek ye continually.

5 Think on the works that he hath done,
which admiration breed;
His wonders, and the judgments all
which from his mouth proceed;

6 O ye that are of Abr’ham’s race,
his servant well approv’n;
And ye that Jacob’s children are,
whom he chose for his own.

7 Because he, and he only, is
the mighty Lord our God;
And his most righteous judgments are
in all the earth abroad.

1650 Scottish Metrical Psalter for singing of Psalm 139:1-10 using the tune Belmont.

Dear Readers,

Thanks for stopping by. Thank God for the encouragement from the book of Psalm in the Bible sang from the Scottish Metrical Psalter 1650. This Scottish Metrical Psalm is the singing of Psalm 139:1-10 using the tune Belmont.

Scottish Metrical Psalm 1650:

Sing Psalm 139:1-10 (Tune: Belmont)

1 O Lord, thou hast me searched and known.
2 Thou know’st my sitting down,
And rising up; yea, all my thoughts
afar to thee are known.

3 My footsteps, and my lying down,
thou compassest always;
Thou also most entirely art
acquaint with all my ways.

4 For in my tongue, before I speak,
not any word can be,
But altogether, lo, O Lord,
it is well known to thee.

5 Behind, before, thou hast beset,
and laid on me thine hand.
6 Such knowledge is too strange for me,
too high to understand.

7 From thy Sp’rit whither shall I go?
or from thy presence fly?
8 Ascend I heav’n, lo, thou art there;
there, if in hell I lie.

9 Take I the morning wings, and dwell
in utmost parts of sea;
10 Ev’n there, Lord, shall thy hand me lead,
thy right hand hold shall me.
