Thank God for His mercies through another year

Dear Friends,

Thank you for stopping by my Word-Filled Wednesday and Thankful Thursday post.

Thanks for all your prayers and encouragements. I thank God for everyone of you.

"Thy mercy, O LORD, is in the heavens; and thy faithfulness reacheth unto the clouds." Psalm 36:5

♥ I am thankful to God for His mercies and faithfulness in seeing me through another year of knowing Him, walking with Him and serving Him. Today is my 42nd birthday :-) Yes, I am this old :-)

♥ I am thankful to God for 2 kind friends who celebrated my birthday in advance for me yesterday. They gave me a treat to a meal as well as bought me a lovely cake. They sang "Blessed Birthday" to me and we enjoyed the fellowship and food. Thank God!

♥ I am thankful to God for creating me and giving me eternal life too so that I can enjoy Him here and for eternity because of what our Lord Jesus Christ has done for us.

♥ I am thankful to God for blessing me with my family who love me, a church who loved Christ and me, and so many friends and blogging friends who love Christ and me. I thank God for each and everyone of you! May God bless you always in your kindness to me.

♥ I am thankful to God for seeing me through the past 1 year of freelance work and provided for my every need. He is Jehovah-Jireh!

♥ I am thankful to God that through working freelance He has enables me to have more time to serve Him through visiting the sick and elderly in my church, helping to update part of my church's website, prepare Mandarin Bulletin for the elderly and some publication work. It has always been my desire to give of myself more to the service of our Lord in my church and I am thankful to God that through His kind providence He has made it possible to me.

♥ I am thankful to God that through working freelance I am able to take better care of my mother and spend more time with her. I felt that I have come to know her better through the past 1 year than I have known her for the 41 years before this!

♥ I am thankful to God that through working freelance I can continue to serve Him through this blog. I know I need to pace myself moderately. So it is with much reluctance that I am taking a break from active blogging due to tiredness and over-whelming tasks on hand. I am thankful to many of you who continues to visit me and encourage me with your prayers and kind words.

My apology that I am not able to return to active blogging yet and therefore will not be able to return as many visits to you as I would like to. But know that I appreciate your visit and will remember you in prayers. I have difficulties spending too much time in front of the pc at this moment. So I will try to stop by your blog every now and then but I may not be able to read much or comment much like I used to do yet. I am praying and looking forward to come back to blogging more regularly as I do missed all of you :-) You are very dear to me.

♥ I am thankful to God for Willow and Lorie for sharing with me these 2 Awards ie. If You Ever Need a Hand, I'm Here Award and Nisha's Friendship Award.

I like to share these sweet awards with all of you who visit me, pray for me and encourage me in so many ways. Thanks for your Friendship and being here when I need you! May God bless you for your kindness to me.

Do take these Award and pass them on to your Friends who are there for you whenever you need them!

Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another

Dear Friends,

Thank you for stopping by my Word-Filled Wednesday (WFW) and Thankful Thursday (TT) post, and the results of my First-Giveaway!

For Word-Filled Wednesday, I like to share this encouraging verse from 1 John 5:11 with you.

(I took this photo at a flower exhibition in Singapore. This flower is the national flower of Singapore. It is called Vanda Miss Joaquim var. Agnes. It is an orchid hybrid, and was selected as Singapore's National Flower on 15 April 1981.)

1 John 5:7-13, 19

7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.

8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.

9 In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.

10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.

12 No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.

13 Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit.

19 We love him, because he first loved us.

♥ I am thankful to God for demonstrating His love for me by sending His only begotten Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, to die on the cross for me to redeem me from eternal damnation and to forgive me of my sin, reconcile me to Himself and give me eternal life.

♥ I am thankful to God for encouraging me through His Words daily, guiding me to walk in His ways, comforting me through all the trials and challenges in my life, and filling me with joy in believing in Him and His precious promises.

♥ I am thankful to God for blessing me with my family who love me. As I am the only Christian in my family, I do covet your prayers that God may in His time give me the joy of seeing my mother, sister and 2 brothers coming to know Him savingly.

♥ I am thankful to God for giving me a church who loves Christ and loves me. They have been a great support and encouragement to me as I strive to live for our Lord and serve Him. In all my afflictions and difficult struggles with clinical depression and bipolar disorder, they have demonstrated extraordinary love, kindness and support. Due to my health condition, I am doing some freelance work of selling my Homemade Bookmarks, Cards and Gifts and some freelance administrative work. The Lord in His faithfulness has been providing for me through the kind love gifts of some brethren in my church who gave cheerfully and anonymously as unto the Lord. Through these kind love gifts plus the income from my freelance works, all my needs have been met over the last 1 year. All praise and glory be to God!

♥ I am thankful to God that I can serve Him through this blog. It has been a great blessing for me to share my life and God's goodness to me, as well as some useful resources and articles with you. I have been greatly blessed by your kind comments especially in letting me know how the posts here have been helpful to you. Thank God and thank you!

♥ I am thankful to God and to Willow and Jill of Forever n Ever n Always for sharing this sweet award with me and blogging friends. Jill created this award to share with us. Trust in the Lord...He will make a way... And my First Give-away

Dear Friends,

Thank you for stopping by my Word-Filled Wednesday (WFW) and Thankful Thursday (TT) post and my First Give-away! I am combining these 2 in order to share the same picture and verse for WFW with my TT friends.

(I took this picture at a Flower Exhibition in Singapore)

Proverbs 3

5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

♥ Thank God that through all the changing scenes in life, I can put my trust in God and He will guide and direct me in the paths He wants me to go.

♥ Thank God for His mercies and faithfulness that are new every morning!

♥ Thank God for always working His ways for me where there seemed to be no way.

Are you going through a tough time now and there seems no way out? Don't give up! Keep trusting in God. He will make a way for you where there seems to be no way. For with Him all things are possible (Matthew 19:26).

Hope this song "God will make a way" will encourage you to continue to trust in God to work a way for you.

God will make a way

God will make a way
Where there seems to be no way
He works in ways we cannot see
He will make a way for me
He will be my guide
Hold me closely to His side
With love and strength for each new day
He will make a way, He will make a way.

By a roadway in the wilderness, He'll lead me
And rivers in the desert will I see
Heaven and earth will fade
But His Word will still remain
He will do something new today.

God will make a way,
Where there seems to be no way
He works in ways we cannot see
He will make a way for me
He will be my guide
Hold me closely to His side
With love and strength for each new day
He will make a way, He will make a way

♥ I thank God for my family, church, friends and every one of you my blogging friends and visitors.

Click at the picture to see a bigger version of the bookmark.

My grace is sufficient for you

Dear Friends,

Thank you for stopping by my Word-Filled Wednesday (WFW) and Thankful Thursday (TT) post. I am combining these 2 in order to share the same picture and verse for WFW with my TT friends.

(My brother took this lovely photo at Muriwai Beach, Western Auckland, New Zealand.)

And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee:
for my strength is made perfect in weakness.
Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities,
that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
2 Corinthians 12:9

♥ Thank God that He has promised in His Word that His grace is sufficient for us! As we face many challenges daily, we can take comfort in the assurance that God will give us grace to go through them. Are you overwhelmed today by your circumstances or challenges or difficulties? May God's precious promise encourage and strengthen your heart as you press on in His strength!

♥ I thank God that He has granted me much grace and strength in these recent weeks of many challenges. As I recover from my relapse of my illness, I am facing much challenges of pacing myself moderately while coping with family, church, work, blogging and other commitments. Thank God that day by day I am learning that His grace is sufficient for me. Though I am weak, He is strong and His strength is made perfect in my weaknesses!

♥ I thank God that He has given me much grace to serve Him through blogging. I am in the midst of praying and making some changes to my blog. Due to the terrible stigma that is still associated with mental illness in my country, I have changed my photo to a new picture of a beach. This is to protect my privacy. As I am seeking ways to earn a living to support my mother and myself, I felt compel to make this change.

I have also created this new blog. If you notice, this is actually a new blog (http://morethanconquerors2008.blogspot.com/) with a copy of all my previous posts. I intend to post all my full posts on this blog from now onwards.

I will post short excerpts of my full posts on my original blog at http://www.lifewithbipolardisorder.blogspot.com/ for the benefit of my readers who are not able to read my full post. I realized that sometimes I post very long and my readers may not have the time to read my full post. So my excerpts will hopefully benefit these readers.

♥ I thank God for my family, church, friends and every one of you my blogging friends and visitors.

♥ I am thankful to God for the prayers and encouragements of so many of you! It is my joy and privilege to meet all of you through blogging! I am greatly blessed and encouraged by many of you. Thank you for your friendships!

May you find rest in God's love, mercies and sufficient grace in whatever you may go through today and every day :)

Come unto me...and I will give you rest

Dear Friends,

For this week, I am adding my Thankful Thursday to Word-Filled Wednesday in order to share the same picture and verse with my Thankful Thursday's friends.

Matthew 11

28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

♥ Thank God that we can go to Him whenever we are heavy laden, and He gives us peace and rest!

♥ Thank God that He is sovereignly in control of all things. And this time of great uncertainties with the hurricane, tornadoes, other natural disasters, sicknesses, financial crisis, etc all over the world, we can go to Him with all our cares and anxieties and find rest in Him.

"Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:6-7

♥ Let us pray for all those that are affected by the hurricane, tornadoes, other natural disasters, sicknesses, financial crisis, etc all over the world, that they may come to know our Lord Jesus Christ as their Saviour and Lord in this time of great needs. May God protect, provide and comfort His people who are affected by these.

♥ I am thankful to God that my review with my Doctor went very well yesterday. Thank God that so far my condition is stable and my Doctor is pleased with the progress. Thank God for providing me with a compassionate, caring and kind Doctor who is doing all her best to help me learn to manage my condition. Thank you for all your prayers and encouragements.

♥ I thank God for my family, church, friends and every one of you my blogging friends and visitors.

May you find rest in God's love, mercies and faithfulness in whatever you may go through today and every day :)

Thankful Thursday

"Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not. Jeremiah 33:3

Thy mercy, O LORD, is in the heavens; and thy faithfulness reacheth unto the clouds. Psalm 36:5"

Dear Friends,

Thanks for stopping by! Thanks for your prayers and encouragements.

♥ Today I am thankful to God for hearing our prayers for Emily and her family. Thank you for praying for Emily and her family. Thank God for His mercies and faithfulness!

Last Wednesday and Thursday, I shared that my friend, Peggy, has started "Mission 4 Monday" and while visiting M4M blogs, I came across Liza's Eyeview. Liza shared about her friend Emily who was hit by car on a Wednesday afternoon 2 weeks ago. Emily suffered multiple fractures. A surgery done on Saturday went well and thank God that on Tuesday 2nd Sept Emily has regained consciousness.

Thank God for His further mercies and faithfulness to Emily and her family. On Saturday, 6 September, Emily was moved out of the ICU. On Monday, 8 September, Emily was able to have her breakfast at the courtyard and able to make some phone calls. Praise and thank God!

♥ Thank God that we serve a Great God Who is greater than any circumstances in our life!

He is a God that hears our prayers and delight to answer it according to His mercies.

What a mercy that we can come before our Heavenly Father's throne of grace daily to cast all our anxieties and care upon Him and to find strength, grace, joy and peace for each day to walk with Him and serve Him.

Please continue to join me in prayers for Emily and her family, if you can.

Josh Spencer's update on Wed, 10 September:
" ... Emily's personality, memory, and conversation abilities are coming back well. And her physical movements. It's mostly her cognitive abilities -- attention, judgement, social behavior skills, problem & decision-making skills, etc. -- which are lagging.

Everyone tells us it will take 6 months to a year of rehab for those functions to be healed, if they ever are. Most brain injury survivors need some form of rehab for the rest of their life, but many can still return to productive, "normal" lives with the right help.

Everyone, please continue to pray for the Lord to continue healing Emily's mind in whatever way he sees fit, and that our family would have the wisdom to do what's best for Emily, and for the medical system to do so also."

Liza's update and prayer request at Praying For Emily on Wed, 10 September are:
Praise Report:

The rehab doctor told Linda that they may possibly send Emily home on Thursday or Friday! OK, this is advance report...not definite yet. The rehab doctor will make a decision on Wednesday (which is today). I will let you know of the decision as soon as I hear from Jenny or Linda.

Prayer Requests:

1. For Emily's mind to continue to recover. We are so happy and excited about Emily saying words and "conversing". Considering the accident and the severity of her condition when she first got in the hospital, it's a miracle that she's talking and conversing at this time. However, she far from total recovery. At this point, she speaks in a "child like manner" and not yet the Emily that used to be before the accident. Therefore this is something we can focus our prayers on. For a complete healing of her mind.

2. For Emily's emotions. Jenny mentioned that Emily was sad yesterday. We can all understand that. We understand how she will go through a vast variety of emotions throughout the recovery process. Please keep her in prayer on that area. Emily is a strong and sweet young lady, and I know that she will get through this ordeal but it is not easy.

3. For the pain to subside and be gone. Jenny did not mention about the pain yesterday but I know that's a big issue. Please continue to pray that all the pain will subside.

4. For logistics, etc. - If the rehab doctor decides that Emily will be able to go home sometime this week, there will be a lot of decisions to make in term of logistics and support. Pray as the Spirit leads.

5. Strength and wisdom for Emily's family - this prayer request is from me, not from Jenny. I just know that Emily's family needs a lot of prayers for strength and wisdom during Emily's recovery. I know you are already praying for this, so this is just a reminder :)

Thank you so much for keeping up with the blog and for all your prayers and support. God bless you all.

Liza

♥ Thank God for preserving Emily and giving her a heart to serve the Lord even in her afflictions.

Emily's mother, Linda wrote on Monday, 8 September:

"....Early this morning, when just Emily and I were awake, she was thanking the Lord and asking Him to use her. When I reminded her that He was using her in a mighty way thru her blog to thousands of people around the world, she nodded her head and said,"ok". I am constantly reminded of God's grace, goodness, faithfulness and powerful love in watching each small and large step that Emily is taking. Thank you for all the kind words but most of all your prayers. Each of us are witnesses to God's deep, deep love for his children. May He richly bless each of your lives.

In His Son's Worthy Name,
Linda"
It is encouraging to read of how Emily is thinking of serving the Lord and asking Him to use her even in her affliction now! Praise God for using this accident to be a testimony of His mercies, goodness and faithfulness.

I am reminded of the song I posted last Saturday for Then Sing My Souls Saturday.

Praise You In This Storm

I was sure by now
God You would have reached down
And wiped our tears away
Stepped in and saved the day
But once again, I say "Amen", and it's still raining

As the thunder rolls
I barely hear Your whisper through the rain
"I'm with you"
And as Your mercy falls
I raise my hands and praise the God who gives
And takes away

And I'll praise You in this storm
And I will lift my hands
For You are who You are
No matter where I am
And every tear I've cried
You hold in Your hand
You never left my side
And though my heart is torn
I will praise You in this storm

I remember when
I stumbled in the wind
You heard my cry to you
And you raised me up again
My strength is almost gone
How can I carry on
If I can't find You

But as the thunder rolls
I barely hear You whisper through the rain
"I'm with you"
And as Your mercy falls
I raise my hands and praise the God who gives
And takes away

I lift my eyes unto the hills
Where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord
The Maker of Heaven and Earth

Thank God that He loves us and is in control of all situations in our life so that even in the storm we can praise Him for His love, mercies and faithfulness.

♥ I am thankful to God once again for providing precious people in my life ie. my family, church, friends and blogging friends who love and care for me in their very wonderful ways.

♥ I am thankful to God once again for all of you, my dear blogging friends and visitors. I have been so greatly blessed by all of you and I thank God upon every remembrance of you. It is wonderful to read of how God is guiding and blessing you in your walk with our Lord and it encourages me in my walk with God too. Thanks again for your prayers and encouragements.

Thankful Thursday : Trust His Heart

And we know that all things work together
for good to them that love God,
to them who are the called according to His purpose
... in all these things we are more than conquerors
through Him that loved us.
(Romans 8:28, 37)

Dear Friends,

Thanks for stopping by! Thanks for your prayers and encouragements.

♥ Today I am thankful to God as I reflect once again on His love and sovereignty throughout my life. I am thankful to God for His love for me and the way He has sustained and led me through the years ever since I know Him about 18 years ago.

♥ There have been many great challenges in my life in terms of my health, family, church, work, relationships. I am thankful to God for the assurance that He loves me and He is working all things for His glory and my good (Romans 8:28). Though I may not always understand why He allows certain things in my life, I can always trust in His love and sovereignty.

♥ Over the last 2 days I have been sharing about Emily and requested for prayers for her and family. Thanks for praying for Emily and her family.

I just read the latest update on Praying For Emily as at Wednesday 3rd Sept. There is an URGENT prayer request for Emily. Please join me in prayers, if you can. Earlier in the morning, Emily's sodium level was dropping and the doctors said this is critical. Please pray that the sodium level goes up, goes to normal level, and stabilize.

Thank God that by late morning at 11.54am 3rd Sept, Emily's sodium level went up a little bit. Please continue to pray that it consistently go up to the normal level and stabilize. The doctors (or nurses) now describe her condition as "holding" or "maintaining". That is good. Pray that the holding will move to improving and complete recovery. Thank God for this latest update by Liza at 6:21pm 3rd September 2008:
1) Latest CT scan shows very slight reduction in swelling. That's good.
2) Sodium level is slowly going up. That's good.
Thank you for continuing to pray for complete healing and recovery.

♥ I am thankful to God that while visiting Praying For Emily, I saw this very encouraging video for the song "Trust His heart" which Liza posted on the website. This is the first time I heard the song and I was greatly uplifted. It ministered to me as I battle with a persistent chronic illness that threatens my life at times. During time of illness and struggles sometimes I question why I have to go through them. The longing to be with the Lord where there is no more suffering is so great. But after each of my recovery from my illness, I realized afresh that God has His purposes in my sufferings. He draws me closer to Him to know His love and mercies. He sanctifies me as He purges away the dross in my life so that I can grow in Him. I saw His mercies in using my suffering to give me a more compassionate heart and to feel for others who are suffering in one way or another. I became a partaker of their sufferings and it enables me to love them and pray for them, that being the least I can do.

I am thankful to God that through my sufferings with my illness, He led me to start this blog to share with other sufferers and their loved ones the goodness of God and the resources made available for our help and recovery. Thank God that providentially through this blog He has led me to know so many of you at Word-Filled Wednesday(WFW), Thankful Thursday (TT) and now the new Mission 4 Monday which Peggy just started on Monday. I am greatly blessed by God's goodness to you as you shared them with me. My life has never been more rich and blessed than this very moment! All praise and glory be to God! Thanks for sharing your friendship with me. Your prayers and encouragements are tokens of God's love for me and I greatly value it.

♥ I am thankful to God once again for providing precious people in my life ie. my family, church, friends and blogging friends who love and care for me in their very wonderful ways.

May this video encourages your heart too in remembrance of God's love and sovereignty. In the afflictions and trials of your life, may you cling unto His love and mercies, even if you can't understand many things. God is too good to be unkind, too wise to be mistaken, when we cannot trace His hand, we can always trust His heart.
Trust His Heart
Written by: Babbie Mason and Eddie Carswell

All things work for our good
though sometimes we can't see how they could
struggles that break our hearts in two
sometimes blinds us to the truth

Our Father knows what's best for us
His ways are not our own
So when your pathway grows dim, and you just can't see Him
Remember you're never alone

God is too wise to be mistaken
God is too good to be unkind
So when you don't understand
When you don't see His plan
When you can't trace His hand
Trust His heart

He sees the master plan
And He holds our future in His hands
So don't live as those who have no hope
All our hope is found in Him

We see the present clearly
But He sees the first and the last
And like a tapestry He's weaving you and me to someday be just like Him

God is too wise to be mistaken
God is too good to be unkind
So when you don't understand
When you don't see His plan
When you can't trace His hand
Trust His heart

He alone is faithful and true
He alone knows what is best for you
So when you don't understand
When you don't see His plan
When you can't trace His hand trust His heart

Thankful Thursday : Because He lives, we can face tomorrow

Dear Friends,

Thanks for stopping by! Thanks for your prayers and encouragements.

♥ I am thankful to God for strengthening me and restoring me from my recent relapse of clinical depression. Around May recently, I over strained myself due to work, blogging, church, family and other commitments. By the time I realized it I was heading towards a burnout. Though I attempted to slow down, I still slipped into clinical depression. Thank God for preserving and restoring me. I am feeling so much better now and will continue to look to our Lord. Thank you for your prayers and encouragements!

♥ With this health condition, the future can at times seem very uncertain and fearful with possible relapses of clinical depression and all the pain and difficulties associated with it. I am thankful to God for the comfort and assurance in His Words of His presence with us, His love for us and His sufficient grace no matter what we may go through in this imperfect world. We have the hope of one day being with the Lord where there will be no more tears, illness and suffering. Meanwhile, He is with us. He loves us and will give us grace sufficient for each day.

♥ I am thankful to God that my illness has drawn me closer to God, to know more and more of His love and mercies, and to be more dependent upon Him. The Lord fills my heart daily with His love and joy so that I can rejoice in Him and find contentment in Him despite my condition.

♥ I am thankful to our Lord Jesus Christ for giving me grace and courage to press on daily because He Lives! I am comforted that in the Bible, God tells us that Christ is risen and He is living today and interceding for us. His Spirit lives in us and will give us grace to live for Him until He calls us home. We are never alone!

♥ I am thankful to God for providing precious people in my life ie. my family, church, friends and blogging friends who love and care for me in their very wonderful ways. These are tokens of God's love for me and I treasure very much.

I saw these videos on YouTube for this encouraging hymn "Because He Lives" and it strengthens my heart to remember anew that we served a Risen Savior Who loves us and is in control of all things. Therefore I can face tomorrow, with all its uncertainty, in God's strength and grace, because God holds the future and that makes life worth living.

Christianity Today has a touching account of how this Song was written by Bill and Gloria Gaither during a very traumatic time in their life in the early 1970s while expecting their third child. The timing for another baby wasn't ideal due to various reasons and the thought of bringing another child into the world was taking its toll. But God ministered grace to them and Christ's resurrection, in all its power, was reaffirmed in their hearts. They were assured that the future, left in God's hands, would be just fine.

In July 1970 a healthy baby, Benjamin, was born. Inspired by the miracle of their son's birth, "Because He Lives" poured out of the Gaithers' grateful hearts. The song clearly affirms the hope believers have in Christ. We can face tomorrow, with all its uncertainty, as we realize that God holds the future and makes life worth living.

Because He Lives

God sent His son, they called Him, Jesus;
He came to love, heal and forgive;
He lived and died to buy my pardon,
An empty grave is there to prove my Savior lives!

How sweet to hold a newborn baby,
And feel the pride and joy he gives;
But greater still the calm assurance:
This child can face uncertain days because He Lives!

Chorus: Because He lives, I can face tomorrow,
Because He lives, all fear is gone;
Because I know He holds the future,
And life is worth the living,
Just because He lives!

And then one day, I'll cross the river,
I'll fight life's final war with pain;
And then, as death gives way to vict'ry,
I'll see the lights of glory and I'll know He lives!

This video "Because He Lives" By The Gaither Vocal Band is posted by hoover4000 on YouTube. The 2nd stanza was first written together with the chorus, 3rd and 1st stanza added subsequently:

This video "Because He Lives" By The Gaither Trio 1972 is posted by hoover4000 (with Gloria explaining the circumstances surrounding the time she wrote the words to "because he lives" and then the gaither trio sings it (from 1972)) (This is very touching. Must see!)

May the wonderful reminder that we serve a Risen Savior, affirms the hope we have in Christ. We can face tomorrow, with all its uncertainty, as we realize that God holds the future and that makes life worth living!

May you continue to know God's love and sufficient grace in very special ways today and everyday!

Thankful Thursday : Father's Love Letter

The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever. Isaiah 40:8

Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away. Luke 21:33

Dear Friends,

Thanks for stopping by! Thanks for your prayers and encouragements.

Some weeks ago, I posted "Letter to My Child" which is very encouraging. It tells us of the great love God has for us and that He cares for us.

Dear Child,

You may not know me, but I know everything about you (Psalm 139:1). I know when you sit down and when you rise up (Psalm 139:2). I am familiar with all your ways (Psalm 139:3). Even the very hairs on your head are numbered (Matthew 10:29-31). For you were made in my image (Genesis 1:27). In me you live and move and have your being (Acts 17:28). For you are my offspring (Acts 17:28). I knew you even before you were conceived (Jeremiah 1:4-5) and I chose you when I planned creation (Ephesians 1:11-12). You were not a mistake, for all your days are written in my book (Psalm 139:15-16). I determined the exact time of your birth and where you would live (Acts 17:26). You are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14). I knit you together in your mother's womb (Psalm 139:13) and brought you forth on the day you were born (Psalm 71:6). I have been misrepresented by those who don't know me (John 8:41-44). I am not distant and angry, but am the complete expression of love (1 John 4:16) and it is my desire to lavish my love on you (1 John 3:1) simply because you are my child and I am your Father (1 John 3:1). I offer you more than your earthly father ever could (Matthew 7:11) for I am the perfect Father (Matthew 5:48). Every good gift that you receive comes from my hand (James 1:17). I am your provider and I meet all your needs (Matthew 6:31-33). My plan for your future has always been filled with hope (Jeremiah 29:11) because I love you with an everlasting love (Jeremiah 31:3). My thoughts toward you are countless as the sand on the seashore (Psalm 139:17-18) and I rejoice over you with singing (Zephaniah 3:17). I will never stop doing good to you (Jeremiah 32:40) because you are my treasured possession (Exodus 19:5). I desire to establish you with all my heart and all my soul (Jeremiah 32:41) and I want to show you great and marvelous things (Jeremiah 33:3). If you seek me with all your heart, you will find me (Deuteronomy 4:29). Delight in me and I will give you the desires of your heart (Psalm 37:4). It is I who gave you those desires (Philippians 2:13). I am able to do more for you than you could possibly imagine (Ephesians 3:20). For I am your greatest encourager (2 Thessalonians 2:16-17). I am also the Father who comforts you in all your troubles (2 Corinthians 1"3-4). When you are brokenhearted, I am close to you (Psalm 34:18). As a shepherd carries a lamb, I have carried you close to my heart (Isaiah 40:11). One day I will wipe away every tear from your eyes (Revelation 21:3-4) and I'll take away all the pain you have suffered on this earth (Revelation 21:3-4). I am your Father, and I love you even as I love my son, Jesus (John 17:23). For in Jesus, my love for you is revealed (John 17:26). He is the exact representation of my being (Hebrews 1:3). He came to demonstrate that I am for you, not against you (Romans 8:31) and to tell you that I am not counting your sins (2 Corinthians 5:18-19). Jesus died so that you and I could be reconciled (2 Corinthians 5:18-19). His death was the ultimate expression of my love for you (1 John 4:10). I gave up everything I loved that I might gain your love (Romans 8:31-32). If you receive the gift of my son Jesus, you receive me (1 John 2:23) and nothing will ever separate you from my love again (Romans 8:38-39). Come home and I'll throw the biggest party heaven has ever seen (Luke 15:7). I have always been Father, and will always be Father (Ephesians 3:14-15). My question is will you be my child (John 1:12-13)? I am waiting for you (Luke 15:11-32).

Love, Your Father,
Almighty God

Recently, I saw another presentation of it on YouTube which is very very encouraging too and it is entitled "Father's Love Letter."

As I viewed "Father's Love Letter" I realized afresh God's love for us as He expressed it in His Words, the Bible. The Bible is in someway God's Love Letter to us to reveal His love for us from creation to salvation to sanctification and to glory.

"Father's Love Letter" is a very encouraging paraphrased of various Scriptures from Old Testament to New Testament. It helps me to appreciate how precious the Bible is to us and how we can know more and more of God's glory and love for us, and how we can live for Him.

♥ I am thankful to God for giving us His Precious Words, the Bible.

♥ I am thankful to God for giving us the Bible so that we can know Who God is, who we are, and what Christ has done to reconcile us to God.

♥ I am thankful to God that He reveals in His Words His love for us and how He has given us His only begotten Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, to redeem us from sins and give us eternal life.

♥ I am thankful to God that His Words admonish us and convict us of our sins, and assures us that with God there is forgiveness of sins as we turn to God in repentance.

♥ I am thankful to God that His Words has the answers on how we can handle the various issues in life with the many challenges.

♥ I am thankful to God that His Words instructs us on how we can live for God, glorify Him and enjoy Him.

♥ I am thankful to God that His Words directs us in the path that God wants us to go.

♥ I am thankful to God that His Words comforts us in our time of sorrows, sufferings and losses.

♥ I am thankful to God for the freedom to read His Words and to worship Him in my country.

♥ I thank God for providing precious people in my life ie. my family, church, friends and blogging friends who love and care for me in their very wonderful ways. These are tokens of God's love for me and I treasure very much.

♥ I thank God once again for all of you, my dear blogging friends and visitors. I have been so greatly blessed by all of you and I thank God upon every remembrance of you. It is wonderful to read of how God is guiding and blessing you in your walk with our Lord and it encourages me in my walk with God too. Thanks again for your prayers and encouragements.

♥ May God opens our eyes daily that we may behold wondrous truths out of His Words (Psalm 119:18) and enable us to walk in them.

♥ May God's Words continues to be a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our paths (Psalm 119:105).

♥ May God enable us to hide His Words in our heart that we might not sinned against Him (Psalm 119:11).

Do take a few minutes to listen to this narrated Father's Love Letter, if you can. Though these Bible verses and Truths are familiar to us, the way they are connected together in this touching letter is very encouraging and enable us to know God's love in a very special way.

To read the Letter is one thing, to listen to it being read is another totally yet wonderful experience! It may change your life!

Thankful Thursday: The Lord is my Shepherd

Psalm 23

1 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

Thankful Thursday : The Love of God

Ephesians 3

14 For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,

17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,

18 May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;

19 And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.

Dear Friends,

Thanks for stopping! Thanks for your prayers and encouragements.

♥ Today I want to thank God for reminding me once again of His unfailing and enduring love in these recent months as I go through many challenges in my health, work, family, etc etc. I thank God that His grace is sufficient for me.

♥ I thank God for allowing me to experience His love by giving His Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, to die on the cross to redeem me from sins. I thank God that He is my help and strength daily, and in Him is my hope and joy.

♥ I thank God for showing me His love in forgiving me of my sins daily. I am conscious of my many weaknesses and sins daily, and I thank God that with Him there is forgiveness of sins. As I go to Him for fresh strength and grace for each day, He has never failed to provide for my needs so that I can live for Him.

♥ I am thankful to God that I have the assurance of His love especially in tough times that He allows them for a purpose (Romans 8:28). I thank God for sanctifying me and enabling me to grow in Him at such times.

♥ I am thankful to God for the comfort of His Words and the joy of seeking Him in prayers and devotion daily.

♥ I thank God for showing me His love through my family, friends, church and blogging friends. I have been so greatly blessed by all of you and I thank God upon every remembrance of you. It is wonderful to read of how God is guiding and blessing you in your walk with our Lord and it encourages me in my walk with God too.

♥ I am thankful for this portion of a lovely hymn/poem which I like very much, “The Love of God”. It reminds me of the love of God which is immeasurable.

I love the way the love of God is being described as greater far than tongue or pen can ever tell. It is so true!

And even if we could fill all the ocean with ink and all the skies with parchment, and every one of us is scribe, to write the love of God above would still drain the ocean dry nor could the scroll contained the whole though stretched from sky to sky!

How true! The immeasurable depths and heights of God’s love! It has to be experienced to know what it means and even then we cannot fathom the whole of it!

The Love of God

The love of God is greater far
Than tongue or pen can ever tell;...
Could we with ink the ocean fill,
And were the skies of parchment made,
Were every stalk on earth a quill,
And every man a scribe by trade,
To write the love of God above,
Would drain the ocean dry.
Nor could the scroll contain the whole,
Though stretched from sky to sky.

Chorus: O love of God, how rich and pure!
How measureless and strong!

It shall forevermore endure
The saints’ and angels’ song.

Thankful Thursday : It Matters to Me about You

Dear Friends,

Thanks for stopping! Thanks for your prayers and encouragements. I thank God upon every remembrance of you!

Today I thank God for His love and care through all the changing scenes in life.

♥ Thank God that no matter what we go through in this life, He is with us (Matthew 28:20).

♥ Thank God that even the difficulties, trials or afflictions that pained us, are actually working together for our good in God's mercies and providence. (Romans 8:28)

♥ Thank God that He is doing a deeper work in our souls to make us what He wants us to be. God is conforming us more and more to the image of Christ. The process is difficult and painful at times but necessary. This is the only way we can bear fruit for Christ (John 15).

♥ Thank God for helping me to live for Him daily admist the various challenges. Thank God for helping me to learn to see things from different angles and to value what God is doing through them. It helps gives me courage to face every tomorrow with God's strength and trusting in His grace that is sufficient for us (2 Corinthians 12:9).

♥ Thank God for His promise that He will never leave us nor forsake us (Hebrews 13:5).

♥ I thank God that nothing shall ever separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord (Romans 8:35-39). Thank God for the assurance that no persecution, sickness, natural disaster, poverty, etc etc and even the lost of life itself, will ever separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

♥ Thank God for this encouraging poem that reminded me of God's love and care. Hope it will encourage you too. No matter what you are going through, He loves and cares for you.

IT MATTERS TO ME ABOUT YOU

My child, I know thy sorrows,
Thine every grief I share;
I know how thou art tested,
And, what is more - I care.

Think not I am indifferent
To what affecteth thee;
Thy weal and woe are matters
Of deep concern to Me.

But, child, I have a purpose
In all that I allow;
I ask thee then to trust Me,
Though all seems dark just now.

How often thou hast asked Me
To purge away thy dross!
But this refining process
Involves for thee - a cross.

There is no other pathway
If thou would'st really be
Conformed unto the image
Of Him Who died for thee.

Thou can'st not be like Jesus
Till self is crucified;
And as a daily process
The cross must be applied.

Just as the skillful gard'ner
Applies the pruning knife,
E'en so, I too would sever
The worthless from thy life.

I have but one sole object -
That thou should'st fruitful be!
And is it not thy longing
That I much fruit should see?

Then shrink not from the training
I needs must give to thee;
I know just how to make thee
What I would have thee be.

Remember that I love thee!
Think not I am unkind,
When trials come to prove thee,
And joy seems left behind.

'Tis but a little longer
Until I come again;
What now seems so mysterious
Will all be then made plain.

Take courage then; and fear not!
Press forward to the prize,
A crown of life awaits thee,
Glory before thee lies!

- Alice C. Lefroy

Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings,
and not one of them is forgotten before God?
But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered.
Fear not therefore; ye are of more value than many sparrows.
(Luke 12:6,7)

♥ Thank God for a blessed relationship with Him through our Lord Jesus Christ.

♥ Thank God for what Christ has done on the cross for me so that I can blog for His glory.

♥ Thank God for family, church, friends and fellow bloggers. Thank God for all of you.

How about you? How has the Lord blessed you through the past week?
