Dear Readers,

Sing Psalm 51:-7-13 (Tune: Belmont) Scottish Metrical Psalm
7 Do thou with hyssop sprinkle me,
I shall be cleansed so;
Yea, wash thou me, and then I shall
be whiter than the snow.

8 Of gladness and of joyfulness
make me to hear the voice;
That so these very bones which thou
hast broken may rejoice.

9 All mine iniquities blot out,
thy face hide from my sin.
10 Create a clean heart, Lord, renew
a right sp’rit me within.

11 Cast me not from thy sight, nor take
thy Holy Sp’rit away.
12 Restore me thy salvation’s joy;
with thy free Sp’rit me stay.

13 Then will I teach thy ways unto
those that transgressors be;
And those that sinners are shall then
be turned unto thee.

Scottish Metrical Psalter: Sing Psalm 19:7-11 (Tune: St. Andrews)

Dear Readers,

Thanks for stopping by. Thank God for the encouragement from the book of Psalm in the Bible sang from the Scottish Metrical Psalter 1650. This Scottish Metrical Psalm is the singing of Psalm 19:7-11 (Tune: St. Andrews) acapella.

Sing Psalm 19:7-11 (Tune: St. Andrews) Scottish Metrical Psalm

7 God’s law is perfect, and converts
the soul in sin that lies:
God’s testimony is most sure,
and makes the simple wise.

8 The statutes of the Lord are right,
and do rejoice the heart:
The Lord’s command is pure, and doth
light to the eyes impart.

9 Unspotted is the fear of God,
and doth endure for ever:
The judgments of the Lord are true
and righteous altogether.

10 They more than gold, yea, much fine gold,
to be desired are:
Than honey, honey from the comb
that droppeth, sweeter far.

11 Moreover, they thy servant warn
how he his life should frame:
A great reward provided is
for them that keep the same.

Sing Psalm 1:1-6 (Tune: St. Peter) Scottish Metrical Psalter

Dear Readers,

Thanks for stopping by. Thank God for the encouragement from the book of Psalm in the Bible sang from the Scottish Metrical Psalter 1650. This Scottish Metrical Psalm is the singing of Psalm 1:1-6 (Tune: St. Peter) acapella.

Sing Psalm 1:1-6 (Tune: St. Peter) Scottish Metrical Psalm

1 That man hath perfect blessedness,
who walketh not astray
In counsel of ungodly men,
nor stands in sinners’ way,

Nor sitteth in the scorner’s chair:
2 But placeth his delight
Upon God’s law, and meditates
on his law day and night.

3 He shall be like a tree that grows
near planted by a river,
Which in his season yields his fruit,
and his leaf fadeth never:

And all he doth shall prosper well
4 The wicked are not so;
But like they are unto the chaff,
which wind drives to and fro.

5 In judgment therefore shall not stand
such as ungodly are;
Nor in th’ assembly of the just
shall wicked men appear.

6 For why? the way of godly men
unto the Lord is known:
Whereas the way of wicked men
shall quite be overthrown.

Scottish Metrical Psalter: Sing Psalm 147:1-8 (Tune: Huddersfield)

Dear Readers,

Thanks for stopping by. Thank God for the encouragement from the book of Psalm in the Bible sang from the Scottish Metrical Psalter 1650. This Scottish Metrical Psalm is the singing of Psalm 147:1-8 (Tune: Huddersfield) acapella.

Sing Psalm 147:1-8 (Tune: Huddersfield)

1 Praise ye the Lord; for it is good
praise to our God to sing:
For it is pleasant, and to praise
it is a comely thing.

2 God doth build up Jerusalem;
and he it is alone
That the dispersed of Israel
doth gather into one.

3 Those that are broken in their heart,
and grieved in their minds,
He healeth, and their painful wounds
he tenderly up-binds.

4 He counts the number of the stars;
he names them ev’ry one.
5 Great is our Lord, and of great pow’r;
his wisdom search can none.

6 The Lord lifts up the meek; and casts
the wicked to the ground.
7 Sing to the Lord, and give him thanks;
on harp his praises sound;

8 Who covereth the heav’n with clouds,
who for the earth below
Prepareth rain, who maketh grass
upon the mountains grow.

Scottish Metrical Psalter: Sing Psalm 139:1-10 (Tune: Belmont)

Dear Readers,

Thanks for stopping by. Thank God for the encouragement from the book of Psalm in the Bible sang from the Scottish Metrical Psalter 1650. This Scottish Metrical Psalm is the singing of Psalm 139:1-10 (Tune: Belmont) acapella.

Scottish Metrical Psalm: Sing Psalm 139:1-10 (Tune: Belmont)

1 O Lord, thou hast me searched and known.
2 Thou know’st my sitting down,
And rising up; yea, all my thoughts
afar to thee are known.

3 My footsteps, and my lying down,
thou compassest always;
Thou also most entirely art
acquaint with all my ways.

4 For in my tongue, before I speak,
not any word can be,
But altogether, lo, O Lord,
it is well known to thee.

5 Behind, before, thou hast beset,
and laid on me thine hand.
6 Such knowledge is too strange for me,
too high to understand.

7 From thy Sp’rit whither shall I go?
or from thy presence fly?
8 Ascend I heav’n, lo, thou art there;
there, if in hell I lie.

9 Take I the morning wings, and dwell
in utmost parts of sea;
10 Ev’n there, Lord, shall thy hand me lead,
thy right hand hold shall me.
