Scottish Metrical Psalm:
Sing Psalm 131 (Tune: Humility)

1 My heart not haughty is, O Lord,
mine eyes not lofty be;
Nor do I deal in matters great,
or things too high for me.

2 I surely have myself behaved
with quiet sp’rit and mild,
As child of mother weaned: my soul
is like a weaned child.

3 Upon the Lord let all the hope
of Israel rely,
Ev’n from the time that present is
unto eternity.

Dear Readers,

Thanks for stopping by. Thank God for the encouragement from the book of Psalm in the Bible sang from the Scottish Metrical Psalter 1650. This Scottish Metrical Psalm is the singing of  Psalm 71:1-5 using Tune: Sawley and acapella.

Sing Psalm 71:1-5 (Tune: Sawley) Scottish Metrical Psalm

1 O Lord, my hope and confidence
is placed in thee alone;
Then let thy servant never be
put to confusion.

2 And let me, in thy righteousness,
from thee deliv’rance have;
Cause me escape, incline thine ear
unto me, and me save.

3 Be thou my dwelling-rock, to which
I ever may resort:
Thou gav’st commandment me to save,
for thou’rt my rock and fort.

4 Free me, my God, from wicked hands,
hands cruel and unjust:
5 For thou, O Lord God, art my hope,
and from my youth my trust.
