This is a testimony of God's mercies and goodness to me in my endeavour to understand and manage bipolar disorder or manic-depressive illness (a medical condition that can be treated) and other challenges in my life, by God's grace. Thank God that we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us! (Romans 8:37)

How should I talk to a person in crisis?
How should I talk to a person in crisis?
- Stay calm. Listen carefully and show that you really care.
- Talk slowly, clearly and use reassuring tones.
- Realize you may have trouble communicating with the sufferer. Ask simple questions. Repeat them if necessary, using the same words each time.
- Show them you care by saying “I’m here. I care. I want to help. How can I help you?”
- Avoid jumping to a conclusion or solution.
- Don’t say, “Snap out of it,” “Get over it,” or “Stop acting crazy.”
- Don’t take the sufferer’s actions or hurtful words personally.
- Suggest seeking medical help if the person is suicidal or unable to cope.
Hope the above will be helpful.

God keeps us from falling: CH Spurgeon Morning and Evening
"Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy," Jude 24In some sense the path to heaven is very safe, but in other respects there is no road so dangerous. It is beset with difficulties.
One false step (and how easy it is to take that if grace be absent), and down we go.
What a slippery path is that which some of us have to tread!
How many times have we to exclaim with the Psalmist, "My feet were almost gone, my steps had well nigh slipped."
If we were strong, sure-footed mountaineers, this would not matter so much; but in ourselves, how weak we are!
In the best roads we soon falter, in the smoothest paths we quickly stumble. These feeble knees of ours can scarcely support our tottering weight.... our heavenly Father holds us by the arms or we should soon be down.
Oh, if we are kept from falling, how must we bless the patient power which watches over us day by day! Think, how prone we are to sin, how apt to choose danger, how strong our tendency to cast ourselves down, and these reflections will make us sing more sweetly than we have ever done, "Glory be to him, who is able to keep us from falling."
We have many foes who try to push us down. The road is rough and we are weak, but in addition to this, enemies lurk in ambush, who rush out when we least expect them, and labour to trip us up, or hurl us down the nearest precipice.
Only an Almighty arm can preserve us from these unseen foes, who are seeking to destroy us. Such an arm is engaged for our defence.
He is faithful that hath promised, and he is able to keep us from falling, so that with a deep sense of our utter weakness, we may cherish a firm belief in our perfect safety, and say, with joyful confidence,
"Against me earth and hell combine,
But on my side is power divin;e
Jesus is all, and he is mine!"Taken from CH Spurgeon, Morning & Evening, October 9, Morning

All things work together for good for the Christians
Thanks for stopping by. Thanks for your prayers and encouragements.
I am thankful to God for working all things for His glory and our good.
I just reread this short except and felt much encouraged to remember God's love and faithfulness in working all things for His glory and our good even when we don't understand it. Our faith is based on Truths that are revealed in the Words of God. God is unchanging and His Words stands forever.
Hope this excerpt taken from Thomas Watson’s “All Things For Good”, The Banner of Truth Trust, 1991, 1st Published 1663, pages 25 to 26 will encourage you too:
To know that nothing hurts the godly, is a matter of comfort; but to be assured that ALL things which fall out shall co-operate for their good, that their crosses shall be turned into blessings, that showers of affliction water the withering root of their grace and make it flourish more; this may fill their hearts with joy till they run over.
“We know.” It is not a matter wavering or doubtful. The apostle does not say, We hope, or conjecture, but it is like an article in our creed, WE KNOW that all things work for good.
Hence observe that the truths of the gospel are evident and infallible. A Christian may come not merely to a vague opinion but to a certainty of what he holds. The Spirit of God imprints heavenly truths upon the heart as with the point of a diamond.
We have arrived at a holy confidence. Let us not rest in scepticism or doubts, but labour to come to a certainty in the things of religion. It concerns us to be well grounded and confirmed in it.
So all God’s providences, being divinely tempered and sanctified, work together for the best of the saints. He who loves God and is called according to His purpose, may rest assured that every thing in the world shall be for his good.
The result of the text is this. ALL THE VARIOUS DEALINGS OF GOD WITH HIS CHILDREN DO BY A SPECIAL PROVIDENCE TURN TO THEIR GOOD.
“All the paths of the Lord are mercy and truth unto such as keep his covenant” (Psalm 25:10). If every path has mercy in it, then it works for good.

Psalm 89:7-14 (Scottish Metrical Psalm)
7 Great fear in meeting of the saintsis due unto the Lord; And he of all about him shouldwith rev'rence be adored.8 O thou that art the Lord of hosts, what Lord in mightinessIs like to thee? who compassed roundart with thy faithfulness.9 Ev'n in the raging of the seathou over it dost reign; And when the waves thereof do swell, thou stillest them again.10 Rahab in pieces thou didst break, like one that slaughtered is;And with thy mighty arm thou hastdispersed thine enemies.11 The heav'ns are thine, thou for thine ownthe earth dost also take; The world, and fulness of the same, thy pow'r did found and make.12 The north and south from thee alonetheir first beginning had; Both Tabor mount and Hermon hillshall in thy name be glad.13 Thou hast an arm that's full of pow'r,thy hand is great in might; And thy right hand exceedinglyexalted is in height.14 Justice and judgment of thy throneare made the dwelling-place;Mercy, accompanied with truth, shall go before thy face. The video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1N8tdG0lYqEIf you are in Singapore and looking for a Church or a Reformed Church in Singapore, do come and visit my Church, Pilgrim Covenant Church (PCC): https://pilgrim-covenant.com/.Thank you for stopping by.
